i've always loved sunflowers. they make me think of summer, sunshine and the warmth of the sun.
i associate them with happiness, not just because they are yellow but because they are so open.
i recently found a packet of sunflower seeds in a box of keepsakes i have.
i bought them when i was in high school with the intention of growing them.
i have no idea where that would have been and i certainly wouldn't have
been allowed to grow them in the backyard of our family home at the time.
i don't know that i'll ever get my sunflower garden but i still hold on to the idea.
One of my girlfriends LOVES sunflowers, her birthday gift from her new boyfriend was a pot, some soil and a packet of sunflower seeds, how romantic is that! When they married a few years later, Trent planted a FIELD of sunflowers on their farm with a gap down the middle for the aisle and that's where they were wed! It was amazingly beautiful, I will try and find a photo for you.
